104g Projects

The 104g projects are research grants funded by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) through the National Competitive Grants Program, aimed at addressing regional and interstate water resource issues. These grants encourage collaboration between the USGS and university scientists to tackle water challenges affecting multiple states. The program’s primary objectives include fostering new ideas to solve pressing water problems, training future scientists in water resource fields, and disseminating research results to both the scientific community and the public. The Indiana Water Resources Research Center utilizes 104g funding to support research initiatives that address multi-state water issues, contributing to the understanding and management of regional water resources.
